Words With Friends
When the project started I was the primary visual designer for The New Words With Friends by Zynga. The team was tasked with updating a 5 year old game without changing the gameplay itself. A majority of the changes came in the form of new UI/UX and visual design. We went through countless iterations, finally landing on the more flat style seen here. I also designed a large amount of UX and general interactions seen in the game especially post launch.
My role has expanded into more of a leadership role over the past 2 years since our world wide launch. As Associate Experience Design Director I lead brainstorming sessions, critiques and meetings. I represent the design department in leads meetings. I also direct and manage an amazing team of 6 designers.
Above are some early wireframes from March of 2013. I may have been focused initially on the visual design but I did help do the experience design for some of the more important parts of the game such as the gameboard.
